Summary
StepPet collects nothing. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. The app has no networking code at all — everything it does happens on your device.
Health Data (Step Count)
StepPet reads one value from Apple Health: your daily step count. It uses that number to work out how many points you have earned for feeding your pet.
- Access is read-only. StepPet never writes to Apple Health.
- Your step data stays on this device. It is never uploaded, shared, or sent anywhere.
- StepPet reads no other health metric — not heart rate, not weight, not workouts, not location.
- You grant this access explicitly, and can revoke it at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → StepPet. If you decline, the app still runs; your pet simply earns only the daily check-in points.
What StepPet Stores
Your pet's state (level, points, when it was last fed and washed) and your preferences (language, sound on/off) are saved on your device only, so the app can pick up where you left off. Deleting the app removes all of it. There is no cloud backup and no sync between devices.
No Data Collection
StepPet does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. It contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. It makes no network requests, so there is nothing to intercept and nowhere for your data to go.
Data Security
Because nothing leaves your device, your information is protected by iOS itself. Health data access is additionally governed by Apple's HealthKit permission system.
Children's Privacy
StepPet does not collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
